Through this mural painting contest, we aim to create a ripple effect—internalizing this year’s Women’s Month theme and producing a tangible output that stands the test of time. These murals are more than just art; they are a powerful statement that further pushes the significance of women in every sector.
We proudly present this vibrant mural painting contest, showcasing the creativity and unity of our different units and divisions. This initiative, made possible through the GAD Focal Point System (GFPS), highlights the power of artistic expression in promoting women’s empowerment.

The mural depicts a Filipino woman wearing the sun as an illusion, with red and blue hands – representing Philippine flag- symbolizing a nation that uplifts women and all its people. The artwork highlights women from various sectors— farmers, nurses, firefighters, and more—standing united in strength and diversity. A pink and violet background honors Women’s Month, while Mayon Volcano represents resilience, rice fields and water symbolize sustenance, and buildings reflect power and progress. This vibrant artwork embodies inclusivity, equality, and a thriving future, reminding us that when women are empowered, the entire nation flourishes in growth, unity, and prosperity.

At its heart, a woman lifting a barbell represents resilience and overcoming obstacles, inspired by Hidilyn Diaz’s Olympic success. It depicts women from various professions and backgrounds, emphasizing diversity and inclusion. The rainbow colors represent LGBTQ+ rights, advocating for gender equality. Floral elements symbolize growth and resilience, while gender equality symbols emphasize the ongoing struggle for equal opportunities. Our mural portrays women as leaders who are shaping a more inclusive and equitable society for all.

At its center, a woman in a deep purple silhouette with her Salakot embodies wisdom, dignity, and leadership, complemented by a blue silhouette symbolizing gender equality. Broken shapes represent the historical challenges to women’s empowerment while her outstretched hand signifies the nurturing role she plays in nation-building. Framed with the iconic Mayon Volcano are abstract strokes and symbols of hope representing societal progress, while diverse hands above embody collective empowerment. The Department advocates for equality and social Inclusion as vital a contribution to national development.

This Women’s Month, LGMED honors the diverse roles of women in the community. In whatever chosen career, all women are worthy and remarkable. Nurturing a future where every being is given equal rights and opportunities is what drives this nation to celebrate WOMEN.
We uphold the fight for gender equality and empowerment as a life-long journey where every woman is accorded the recognition and opportunities she rightfully deserves.
