The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office 5 conducted a Technical Writing Enhancement Training and Workshop for its employees on February 27-28, 2023 at the DILG 5 Regional Office Training Hall.
ARD Jhoaden G. Lucero, CESO V, highlighted the importance of technical writing skills for DILG personnel, particularly for local government operations officers (LGOOs) and engineers, as they play a crucial role in effectively communicating with our clients and stakeholders.
The training featured distinguished speakers who shared their expertise and experiences in the field and provide essential technical writing skills and techniques to better serve clients and enhance their professional capabilities.
For Day 1, Administrative Officer V Narcisa M. Claveron discussed Supply and Property Management with emphasis on the managing and handling of various properties and supplies as well as writing clear and effective reports. LGOO VI Amaline R. Colina discussed intensively the history of the DILG and the salient features of the Local Government Code of 1991. With this knowledge, the LGOOs can better understand their roles and responsibilities in implementing DILG programs, projects, and activities (PPAs).
The second day of the activity was allotted for technical writing with Ms. Hazel A. Lobetania, LPT, where she discussed the importance of using plain language in technical writing since complex information must be communicated clearly and concisely.
DILG R5 strives to deliver timely and quality public services that meet the needs and expectations of our clients. We continuously seek to enhance our knowledge and skills through capacity-building programs, such as the recent Technical Writing Enhancement Training, to ensure that our frontline personnel are equipped with the necessary competencies to carry out our duties and responsibilities.
