Secretary Mar Roxas visited the provinces of Albay on June 4, 2014 and Sorsogon on June 5, 2015 to distribute patrol jeeps as part of the Capability Enhancement Program of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
In Albay, Secretary Roxas distributed 15 patrol jeeps to 15 municipalities. Said patrol jeeps were turned over to the respective local chief executives in a ceremony held at the Albay Capitol Grounds, Legazpi City. Also present to witness the awarding ceremonies were Albay Governor Joey Salceda and members of the Sanggunian Panlalawigan of Albay, local officials and functionaries of Legazpi City, DILG family, partners from the national government agencies and media.
After the turnover ceremonies, Secretary Roxas met with members of Koalisyon ng Mamamayan Para sa Reporma (KOMPRE), business sectors, and professionals held at Alvis Restaurant and members of student council organizations from Bicol University held at Charisma Hotel in Guinobatan, Albay.
In Sorsogon City, Secretary Roxas turned over 14 units of patrol jeeps to 14 municipalities of Sorsogon. He likewise met with the members of KOMPRE in Sorsogon for a dialogue. The final stretch of Sec. Roxas visit was at Prieto Diaz, Sorsogon for the turnover over of P2,000,000 cheque for the 2014 BUB project. It was received by Prieto Diaz Mayor Benito Doma and witnessed by Sorsogon 2nd District Representative Deogracias Ramos, other local chief executives from other municipalities of Sorsogon and the people of Prieto Diaz.
The turn over ceremony was held at Barangay Quidolog, the site of the completed 2013 DILG SALINTUBIG project which he also visited. (P.O III Ma. Grace Joy Tango)
