The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 5 through the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) – Awards and Recognitions Section conducted the Regional Orientation 2023 Implementing Guidelines of Local Legislative Awards on July 26, 2023, at the DILG LGRRC Library.

The Local Legislative Awards recognizes sanggunians at the city and municipal level with exemplary performance in enacting ordinances or resolutions that ultimately contribute to the attainment of desirable socio-economic and environmental outcomes.

Regional Director Atty. Arnaldo E. Escober Jr., CESO V, graced the hybrid meeting through an opening message and guidance followed by the inspirational message of Vice Mayor Marissa V. Hao, VMLP Regional President, as Vice Chairman. The messages focused on the relevance of the award in providing due recognition to performing sanggunians. Also, topics on the DILG Memorandum Circular 2023-092 and the Supplemental Guidelines were discussed.

The Regional Awards Committee (RAC) members in attendance were the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The Cluster Heads, Program Managers, and Provincial Focal Persons of the Local Legislative Awards in the DILG Provincial Offices also participated in the activity.
