The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region V partnered with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) in presenting the Certificate of Approval for the Province of Sorsogon’s Provincial Development & Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) and the Certificate of Recognition for LGUs with approved and updated Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) & Zoning Ordinance (ZO). The ceremony took place at the Sorsogon Provincial Gymnasium on June 7, 2024.

Among the LGUs with approved and updated CLUPs were Barcelona, Bulan, Bulusan, Casiguran, Castilla, Donsol, Gubat, Irosin, Juban, Magallanes, Matnog, Pilar, Prieto Diaz, Santa Magdalena, Sorsogon City, and Sorsogon province.

This activity underscores both agencies’ commitment to assisting LGUs in formulating and approving CLUPs, crucial for fostering resilient and sustainable communities.

In attendance were DHSUD Undersecretary Henry L. Yap, Arch., EnP, DHSUD Regional Director Atty. Richard L. Manila, and representatives from Sorsogon’s provincial government. DILG Sorsogon Provincial Director Arnel Renato L. Madrideo and LGOO V Ivy S. Ramirez represented DILG.
