President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. together with DILG Secretary Atty. Benjamin C. Abalos Jr., visit the province of Albay on June 14, to continue assessing the situation of Evacuation Centers (ECs) in the wake of Mt. Mayon’s volcanic activity.
PBBM will meet with Local Government Authorities and LDRRMO to discuss detailed preparations for the possible eruption of Mayon Volcano. He will also check on the conditions and facilities of the ECs, as well as the residents who have been evacuated.
Together with them is the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to the Philippines, Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi. Earlier this week, the UAE government has sent 51 tons of relief and food supplies to Albay – the very first international humanitarian aid that the province has received for the victims of the Mayon Volcano’s unrest.
This visit is in relation to the PHILVOCS announcement after the status of Mayon Volcano was raised to Alert Level 3 on June 8.
