A two-day NEO program Orientation Workshop for DILG key officials was conducted by the Local Government Academy on May 27-28, 2013 at BSA Towers, Ortigas Center, Pasig City in preparation for the NEO Webinar series, a new learning approach and a training program for the newly elected local officials (NEO).

A webinar or “web-based seminar” is a presentation, lecture, workshop or seminar transmitted over the web. Using modern technology like the internet, the NEO webinar series will serve as an opportunity for a continuing education and a guide for newly elected local officials in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.

The delegates from DILG V who attended the orientation were ARD and LGRRC Program Manager Elouisa T. Pastor, LGCDD-LGOO V Susan Emce B. Santiago, LGMED Chief Olivio Ramirez and ITO 1 Eden S. Lanuza.

The seminar-workshop focused on the presentation of the NEO program framework, its components and implementing guidelines. Also discussed were the roles and responsibilities of the webinar management team specifically as an administrator, facilitator, moderator and other management skills in the webinar series which will be launched within the third week of June this year. – (ITO 1 Eden S.
