The newly constructed Farm-to-Market Road at Barangay Caragñag, San Andres, Catanduanes was formally opened and introduced to the public in an inauguration ceremony on October 14, 2022.

The ₱2-million worth project is the very first FY 2022 Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) project nationwide to reach completion, with Barangay Caragñag among the earliest beneficiary barangays across the country to be released with the Notice of Authority to Debit Account Issued (NADAI).

This resulted in an early project implementation which commenced in August 2022. Consequently, the FMR reached completion in early of October 2022, only a few weeks since the concreting started.

The SBDP provides P4-million worth of financial support to the much needed infrastructures and services of each priority barangay in pursuit of lasting peace and development.

For FY 2022, there are a total of 280 beneficiary barangays in Bicol region, including Barangay Caragñag.

As of writing, Barangay Caragñag is set out to complete before November 2022 the construction of a school building which is also funded under the program.

The inauguration ceremony was led by DILG 5 Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) headed by LGOO VII Leandro S. Gigantoca, in coordination with DILG Catanduanes headed by Provincial Director Uldarico S. Razal Jr., CESO V; San Andres MLGOO Neil I. Evangelista; San Andres Local Government Unit (LGU) headed by Municipal Mayor Atty. Leo Z. Mendoza; and Barangay Caragñag BLGU led by Punong Barangay Willy M. Solsona.

The ceremony was also graced by OPDS Assistant Director and LEO70 PMO Head Rene V. Valera; Catanduanes Provincial Vice Governor Peter C. Cua; DILG 5 Assistant Regional Director Jhoaden G. Lucero, CESO V; PBGen David Peredo Jr representing PBGen Rudolph B Dimas; 1LT Jose Neil Enriquez representing MGen Alex DC Luna; and NICA 5 Assistant Regional Director Joger Gersalla representing Regional Director Vert T. Chavez.

Heads and representatives of partner agencies and security cluster, members of Caragñag Barangay Council, MLGU local officials, and DILG Field Officers and Engineers were also present to join the celebration.
