The 2024 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Audit and Awards yielded seventy-five (75) high performing local ADACs in the Bicol Region for their exceptional commitment to the fight against illegal drugs. These LGUs stood out for their robust anti-drug programs, effective enforcement strategies, and community-based rehabilitation initiatives, all of which contributed to healthier and safer communities across the Philippines.
The ADAC Performance Audit evaluates Local ADACs on their proactive measures to combat the drug problem, including preventive education, rehabilitation programs, and the successful dismantling of drug syndicates. LGUs that excelled in the audit demonstrated strong leadership, collaboration with national and local agencies, and a comprehensive approach to addressing drug-related issues.
The results showed significant improvement from 2022 to 2023 through a 15.38% increase in the number of high performing LGUs. The rise in functionality ratings reflects the LGU’s unwavering commitment to efficiency, effectiveness, and a stronger, data-driven approach to combating drug abuse.
Through this annual assessment, the DILG underscores the vital role of LGUs in achieving the national goal of a drug-free society, showcasing how local efforts can drive meaningful change for safer, drug-free communities.
