As part of putting in place a mechanism for disaster preparedness in the Department, the DILG V invited Albay Public Safety Management office (APSEMO) chief Cedric Daep to lecture on the important and basic things to know about earthquakes. This was done in preparation for the conduct of an earthquake drill to be held after the task units shall have been organized in the regional office. The task units to be organized are as follows: security, transportation, medical/first aid, block service, evacuation, communication/information and fire. Dir. Blandino Maceda instructed the Administrative Services Division to immediately organize said task units.

The earthquake drill is necessary in order to test the ability of the rescue team and the performance of the employees in evacuating outside the building. The drill will be conducted with a simulated intensity 5 earthquake.
