DILG Secretary Atty. Benjamin C. Abalos, Jr., through DILG Region 5, turned over additional 6,400 face masks to the Provincial Government of Albay (PLGU) on June 16, 2023. The face masks will be distributed to Evacuation Centers in the province affected by recent volcanic activities from Mt. Mayon.

DILG 5 Regional Director Arnaldo E. Escober Jr., CESO V, personally made the turnover to PLGU Albay Governor Edcel Greco Alexandre B. Lagman. Governor Lagman has expressed his utmost gratitude for the continuous provision of aid from the various National Government Agencies.

The recent volcanic activities from Mt. Mayon have forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes. The government has assisted evacuees, including food, water, and shelter. The other face masks will help to protect the evacuees from the spread of respiratory diseases.

The first batch of the face masks was distributed last June 14, 2023, to the PDRRMC, represented by Albay Provincial Health Office.
