In a significant move towards fostering sustainable and inclusive communities, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region V has pledged its unwavering support to the PLANADO Program initiated by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) during its rollout on June 6 in Albay and June 7 in Sorsogon.
The PLANADO Program aims to streamline and digitalize land use and urban planning and development processes, eliminate backlogs in Comprehensive Land Use Plans by 2028, and promote sustainable urban development for future generations.
DILG Region V reiterated its commitment to collaborating closely with DHSUD and other relevant agencies to ensure the success of the PLANADO Program.
Key guests during the event included DHSUD Undersecretary Henry L. Yap, Arch., EnP, DHSUD Regional Director Atty. Richard L. Manila, and representatives from the provincial governments of Albay and Sorsogon. Additionally, DILG Sorsogon Provincial Director Arnel Renato L. Madrideo and LGOO V Ivy S. Ramirez were present on behalf of DILG.
Also in attendance were the Local Planning and Development Coordinators, LGU Officials, key stakeholders and CSOs from the cities and municipalities in the two provinces.
