As of July 20, 2023, DILG Region 5 successfully completes its 3-5 day onsite immersions across the provinces in the Bicol Region. With a total target of 221 priority barangays, DILG R5 continues to empower disadvantaged and vulnerable communities to achieve lasting and sustainable peace.

Optimizing this period of engagement with the barangays, DILG R5 also reached another milestone with a 100% accomplishment rate in the formulation of the Enhanced Barangay Development Plans (eBDP) for these 221 barangays.

Salute to all Provincial Directors, Cluster Heads, Program Managers, Focal Persons, and all LGOOs of DILG R5 who ably served as Baranggayan Facilitators and Monitoring Teams, as well as to Engineers and PEOs who assisted in the validation of proposed projects and in the monitoring of the conduct of RCSP. We also share these milestones with our partner Local Government Units (LGUs) and National Government Agencies (NGAs) who continuously heed the call for positive change- we could not have done this without your support.

Baranggayan sa Bikol is the innovation of DILG R5 in the implementation of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP)- a flagship program of the Department localizing Executive Order 70 or the Whole of Nation Approach in Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC). RCSP focuses on improving the lives of people in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs) through stronghold efforts and initiatives of good governance and community empowerment in cooperation with other National Government Agencies (NGAs).
