In a pivotal moment for transparent and effective governance, the DILG Region 5 and CODE-NGO Inc. formally signed the contract for the Implementation of Third Party Monitoring for the FY 2022 Local Government Support Fund-Growth Equity Fund (LGSF-GEF) Projects on August 28, 2024 at Hotel Iñigo in Legazpi City, Albay.
This agreement marks the commencement of the Third Party Monitoring initiative for the FY 2022 LGSF-GEF Projects across the Bicol Region. This program is under the Office of the Project Development Services (OPDS) of DILG Central Office. In his message, Regional Director Arnaldo E. Escober Jr., CESO V, emphasized the importance of this partnership in pursuing an independent perspective to determine the success of governance and the effectiveness of the project implementation to augment the Department’s existing monitoring mechanisms.
Affirming their commitment to the monitoring of the implementation of 25 completed projects funded by the FY 2022 LGSF Growth Equity Fund, the Ceremonial MOA signing was also attended by DILG Provincial Directors, members of the Regional Technical Working Group (RTWG), CODE-NGO Executive Director Sandino J. Soliman, Chairperson Aurora Chavez-De Guzman, and CBD Executive Director Jesica F. Capricio.
