DILG 5 Regional Director Atty. Arnaldo E. Escober, Jr., CESO V, attended the Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) Meeting on June 28, 2024, at the Marison Hotel in Legazpi City.

The RPAB, chaired by the Regional Executive Director of the Department of Agriculture, was tasked with reviewing and approving the proposed Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) subproject for funding under the PRDP Scale-Up.

The PRDP Scale-Up is one of the flagship programs of the Department of Agriculture (DA), designed to address gaps in the commodity value chain towards greater connectivity, mobility, accessibility, availability, and affordability of food in the market.

During the meeting, the proposed Concreting of Magsalangi Farm-to-Market Road in Milagros, Masbate, was reviewed. This project is expected to contribute to the overall upliftment of the socio-economic status of the people in the influence area. The infrastructure development subproject, worth 178.38 million pesos, was approved and endorsed by the board during the meeting.

Also in attendance were Engr. Sharon M. Matias of DILG 5 PDMU, DTI Regional Director Dindo Nabol, BFAR Regional Director Ariel Pioquinto, DPWH OIC ARD Brigildo Fabia, Hon. Natividad Isabel R. Magbalon, Mayor of LGU Milagros, Deputy Project Director Adelina Losa, RAFC Bicol Chairperson Bernadette De Los Santos, NCIP CDO III Ian Jose Alamares, DAR representative Engr. Josephine Rañosa, and Engr. Ma. Jins Belmonte of DENR.
