Set to create uniform knowledge and understanding of Local Chief Executives (LCEs) and functionaries from FY 2022-2023 SBDP Beneficiary Municipalities in the implementation of SBDP Projects, DILG 5 led the conduct of Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) Regional Summit on January 28, 2023, at The Marison Hotel, Legazpi City, Albay.
Office of Project Development Services (OPDS) Assistant Director and Localization of Executive Order 70 Project Management Office (LEO 70 PMO) Head Rene V. Valera began with the leveling-off discussion. After, Project Development Monitoring Unit (PDMU) Chief LGOO VII Leandro S. Gigantoca highlighted the Accomplishments in the implementation of FY 2021 and 2022 SBDP Projects in the Bicol Region.
The Dialogue and Open Forum, a significant feature of the Regional Summit, capped off the afternoon as LCEs and representative functionaries had the chance to raise their respective issues and concerns to the members of the panel composed of DILG Undersecretary for Local Government Marlo L. Iringan, CESO III, DILG-Undersecretary for Barangay Affairs Felicito A. Valmocina, Deputy Executive Director of NTF-ELCAC Monico S. Batle, and Office of Project Development Services Assistant Director and Localization of Executive Order 70 Project Management Office Head Rene V. Valera, DILG 5 Regional Director Atty. Arnaldo E. Escober Jr. CESO V and Assistant Regional Director Jhoaden G. Lucero, CESO V.
Some concerns were also turned over and addressed accordingly by key officials from National Government Agencies (NGAs) present.
Prior to the adjournment, RD Atty. Escober and the NGAs asked for the continuous support of LCEs and functionaries in the whole-of-nation effort to attain insurgent-free communities. Further, everyone is encouraged to work hand in hand in achieving the progress and development the Filipino longs for.
