DILG 5 facilitated the much-anticipated Release of the FY 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Incentive Fund to the 17 Local Government Unit (LGU) Awardees on December 28, 2023, at the LGRRC Library. The SGLG is a prestigious recognition granted to LGUs who have demonstrated exceptional performance in various local governance criteria. This fund aims to support and incentivize their ongoing efforts to sustain good governance practices and foster development in their communities.

DILG 5 Regional Director (RD) Atty. Arnaldo E. Escober Jr., CESO V, led the turnover of cheques together with LGMED Chief Darlyn D. Ayende, Assistant Division Chief (ADC) Amaline R. Colina, and Project Development Monitoring Unit’s (PDMU) Engr. IV Sharon T. Matias. This financial support catalyzes these LGUs to continue their initiatives, improve service delivery, and uplift the lives of their constituents. With this funding, they are empowered to sustain and enhance their programs and contribute to their communities’ overall progress and welfare. As part of its oversight function, the Department will closely monitor the implementation of these projects.

DILG 5 remains dedicated to nurturing a culture of good local governance, supporting, and recognizing the relentless efforts of LGUs in their journey towards excellence.
