In collaboration with Bicol University, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Region V officially launched the BIDA Fire Square Road Show 2023 in the Bicol University College of Engineering Gymnasium last May 4, 2023.

The program imparts to the youth the primary goal of the department’s umbrella program, Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA), which aims to raise awareness of the adverse effects of the use of illegal drugs.

DILG V Regional Director Attorney Arnaldo E. Escober Jr., CESO V, was represented by Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation (LGMED) Division Chief (DC) Darlyn D. Ayende.

In her keynote message, DC Ayende emphasized that it is not only the LGUs or partner NGAs’ responsibility to provide intensified support for the program but also encourage multi-sectoral campaign participation.

Also present in the activity were Bicol University President Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin N. Nebres III, BFP V Regional Director, CSUPT Ricardo C. Perdigon, DSC, BFP V Regional Chief of Staff, SSUPT Jose B. Callos, Bicol University College of Nursing Dean Jean Annette S. Ibo, Ed.D, and PDEA 5 Assistant Regional Director Aida J. Ferolino.
