DILG Assistant Secretary Francisco R. Cruz CESO III emphasizes that the Strat Plan sets the direction of DILG Region 5 in effectively implementing the Programs, Projects, and Activities to the LGUs and the Bicolano Community.

He challenges DILG Region 5 to focus and address gaps on governance areas, advance strategic communication for the government, and capitalize on people and community engagements and mobilization to be Alliance-Driven, People-Centric and Future Ready.

The initiative is led by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Plans and Programs (OASSP) and Planning Service (PS), with DILG Core Planning Group and the Support for the Local Governance Program – Project Management Office (SLGP – PMO).

This is in relation to the adoption of the DILG Strategic Plan 2023 – 2028 under DILG Circular No. 2023-011 (Nov. 24, 2023) that outlines the department’s strategic goals to achieve in the future for the LGUs and the communities, given the shifts and trends in governance and anticipating the emergence of political, environmental, and socio-economic global and local uncertainties.

In attendance are Assistant Regional Director Jhoaden G. Lucero, CESO V, Provincial Directors, Cluster Heads, Division Chiefs, Program Managers and DILG Region 5 Personnel.
