The Regional Orientation on Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP2) Program cum Assessment was conducted on August 18, 2022 at Ninong’s Hotel, Legazpi City to reintroduce the purpose, framework, key result areas, target beneficiaries, and roles and responsibilities of the governing council to the BP2 Focal Persons and the Provincial Governments.

The orientation was facilitated by the Capacitating LGUs on Resettlement Governance – Project Management Office (CLRG-PMO) under the Bureau of Local Government Development (BLGD) of DILG Central Office, together with DILG R5 through its Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED), and in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Central Office.

DILG 5 Assistant Regional Director Jhoaden G. Lucero, CESO V emphasized the importance of the BP2 Program to the resettlement community by giving them hope and purpose. ARD Lucero also called on the LGUs for their increased support and engagement in the BP2’s implementation to ensure its overall success.

As part of the activity’s agenda, SWDO III Lea Nieva also shared updates on the BP2 Program and showcased its notable implementation accomplishments. Participants from the Provincial Health Office (PHO), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), in collaboration with the DILG Provincial BP2 Focal Persons, shared their views and concerns regarding the Program Assessment as inputs for the finalization of the draft Memorandum Circular on BP2 Program.
