DILG R5 conducts the SGLG CY 2023 Regional Calibration back to back with the RCSP Mid-year Implementation Consultation with DILG Provincial Teams on July 4-6, 2023.

The SGLG program is designed to incentivize and honor LGUs that demonstrate progress and improvement in their governance practices. It is a continuing commitment for LGUs to enhance their performance based on ten governance indicators.

LGMED Chief Darlyn D. Ayende expressed gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of the Regional Assessment Team (RAT), who plays a crucial role in assessing the performance management systems of provinces, cities, and municipalities. Their assessments contribute to improving service delivery, ensuring transparency, and enhancing accountability in the discharge of functions by LGUs.

Furthermore, Regional Director (RD) Atty. Arnaldo E. Escober Jr., CESO V, emphasized that the SGLG Assessment results for the Bicol Region is an outcome of the technical services and assistance provided by the DILG to its stakeholders. These results are directly tied to the Department’s four outcome areas, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to supporting LGUs and promoting effective governance. In attendance are Albay’s Provincial Director Ray B. Caceres, CESO V, Camarines Norte Provincial Director Melody E. Relucio, CESO V, Camarines Sur Provincial Director Julius Rodel L. Cal-Ortiz, CESE, and Catanduanes Provincial Director Uldarico S. Razal Jr., CESO V, together with the Cluster Heads and focal persons of all six provinces.
