The National Inspection Team (NIT) recently conducted a site visit of FY 2021 Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) projects at Barangay Cabagahan, Matnog, Sorsogon.
This is pursuant to Memorandum Order No. 2022-01 of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) which states that the NIT to be led by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and National Security Council (NSC) Representatives and composed of other National Government Agency (NGA) representatives shall conduct site inspections of FY 2021 SBDP projects to ensure conformance to minimum standard requirements.
For Barangay Cabagahan, the NIT was led by the DILG Central Office through the Localization of Executive Order 70-Program Management Office (LEO70-PMO) represented by Engineer III Fahadz S. Muhamin, Development Management Officer II John Lawrence M. Ocampo, and Project Development Officer II Juwel A. Robin.
The team paid a courtesy call to Hon. Jose Edwin “Boboy” B. Hamor, Governor of Sorsogon Province prior to the inspection proper to discuss the relevant details of the site visit.
The NIT was assisted by Engineers from the DILG Regional Office 5 and Sorsogon Provincial Engineering Office. Under FY 2021 SBDP, Barangay Cabagahan received a total of Php. 20 million worth of project funds allocated for four of their identified priority projects, namely, (1) Farm-to-Market Road, (2) Upgrading/Improvement of Level II Water Supply System, (3) Electrification, and (4) Assistance to Indigent Individuals. To date, the installation of the electrification project has reached its completion while construction of the remaining two infrastructures is ongoing.
The SBDP is one of the flagship programs of EO70 which provides barangays their much-needed infrastructures and social services in aim of attaining lasting peace and development.
The National Inspection Team (NIT) conducted another site visit at Barangay Coron-Coron, Matnog, Sorsogon, completing the second leg of the two-day site inspections in identified barangays in Sorsogon province.
For Barangay Coron-Coron, the NIT was composed of representatives from the DILG Central Office, namely, Engineer III Fahadz S. Muhamin, Development Management Officer II John Lawrence M. Ocampo, and Project Development Officer II Juwel A. Robin, assisted by representatives from the DILG Regional Office 5, DILG Sorsogon Provincial Office, and Sorsogon Provincial Engineering Office.
Barangay Coron-Coron is one of the 49 FY 2021 SBDP beneficiary barangays in Bicol Region, with each granted Php 20 million worth of project funds for their identified priority projects. As of writing, the projects implemented in the barangay such as the Construction/Upgrading of Water Supply System, Rehabilitation and Construction of Local Access Roads, and Assistance to Indigent Individuals are nearing their completion. On the other hand, the Electrification project for the barangay has reached completion ahead of the above-mentioned infrastructure projects.
The NIT met with Sorsogon Provincial Governor Jose Edwin “Boboy” B. Hamor for the Exit Conference to discuss the results and findings of the inspection, which Governor Hamor also took as an opportunity to express his commitment in ensuring the completion of all ongoing FY 2021 SBDP projects in Sorsogon province before the end of the year.
