To usher in the year 2010, DILG V had set its direction towards the attainment of its program target .

In its first management conference meeting, Dir. Blandino Maceda presented the priority programs to be implemented by the Department for 2010 to focus on the orientation of newly elected officials, millennium development goals, climate change programs specifically on solid waste management, disaster risk reduction, water and sanitation, air quality management, transportation management; enhancement program for local government officials and DILG personnel. Aside from the regular programs, DILG V will also focus on the implementation of its special projects namely Strengthening Local Governments of the Philippines Phase (SLGP) IV, State of Local Governance, orientation of the leagues, local economic development and leadership management training for senior managers. Director Maceda is optimistic that as in the past, DILG V will attain its target with the cooperation and commitment of all DILG personnel. To complement the implementation of DILG programs with the implementation of the new ENPPES, Director Maceda on January 18-20, 2010 called for the provincial directors, division chiefs, provincial and division planning officers and selected DILG officers from the six provincial offices to work on the finalization of the AOPB targets and for specific and proper delineation of duties at all operating levels.
