To thresh out concerns on the forthcoming Kick-Off Training, On-Site Coaching and other succeeding activities and strategies for the implementation of BPLS Reforms, a consultative meeting between DILG-DTI and BPLS-trained coaches from the 11 pilot LGUs  and four (4) from the expanded pilot local government units on Business Permits and Licensing System (BPLS).

DILG Regional Director, Blandino Maceda encouraged all the participants to fulfill their commitment to the project.  “My vision is for the LGUs to be able to render services by extending quality governance, promote transparency, public disclosure and creation of a business friendly LGUs”, he enthuses.  He added that the pilot LGUs must be able to install the Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) by January 2010 based on the standards of BPLS Reforms.

 During the meeting, DILG Asst Regional Director Elouisa Pastor, Program Manager of the SLGP presented the mechanics of the BPLS Program under the Spanish government-Assisted Project-SLGP.

The status of the Regional Action Plan on the Implementation of BPLS Reforms was updated and the Action Plan for the Kick-Off Training was prepared and submitted by the LGU-partners.  The Kick-Off Training for BPLS Reforms will be held on December 7-11, 2010 in Naga City.  The eight participants shall include the BPLO, treasurer, assessor, fire marshal, sanitary Inspector, engineer/zoning officer, c/mlgoo, and a representative from the local business chamber.  – (LGOO V Bem Rosal)
