The first Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting of the Strengthening Local Governments in the Philippines (SLGP) Project was held on April 7, 2011 at the AECID Office, Makati City as one of the results of the agreements in the SLGP National Planning Conference convened early this year.

Among the highlights, the PSC has approved the SLGP Phase III Manual of Operations, the Work and Financial Plan covering the period from January 24, 2011 until February 25, 2012, the infrastructure support proposals, the ICT grant, and the identified capacity development initiatives for selected LGUs.

The National Planning Conference has established the PSC for SLGP to provide policy directions and implementation guide to the Project Management Office, approve the work and financial plans, the manual of operations and infrastructure project proposals, and serve as venue in which issues and project related concerns can be discussed and resolved.

The Committee is headed by Dir. Marivel C. Sacendoncillo, Executive Director of the Local Government Academy. Members include Regional Director Blandino M. Maceda, Assistant Regional Director Elouisa T. Pastor for DILG Region V, and Regional Director Atty. Rene K. Burdeos, Assistant Regional Director Lilibeth A.
