Recognizing the vital role of communication and information in nation-building and with the rapid advancement of technology, new management tools are being introduced to have an efficient strategy in the delivery of information. To achieve this, DILG Regional Office No. 5 spearheaded a 5-day Website Development Training for its 6 provincial offices on January 25 to 29, 2016 at Jennifer’s Hotel, Legazpi City.

The training aimed to facilitate the development of DILG provincial websites in accordance with Administrative Order 39 (Uniform Government Website Template) to institutionalize a corporate online identity for all government websites through a standard design, navigation and content. The training focused on the use of WordPress which is one of the Content Management System (CMSs) approved or prescribed by the Department of Science and Technology – Information and Communications Technology (DOST-ICTO) Office for use by government agencies in publishing, editing and modifying content, and for maintaining their websites under the Government Web Hosting Service (GWHS).

A total of 18 participants were equipped with the knowledge on how to develop, design and maintain a website. They were also given an overview on Administrative Order 39 for their guidance in the development of their respective website.

As part of the training output, all participants presented their individual website and was reviewed and evaluated by the resource speaker. – (ITO 1 Eden S. Lanuza)
