A two-day Regional Conference on Peace and Development (RCPD) was held on May 19-20, 2021 in Legazpi City. This conference served as a consultative platform for programs and services of National Government Agencies (NGAs). 

Organized and facilitated by the Sectoral Unification, Capacity-building, Empowerment and Mobilization (SUCBEM) Cluster of the Regional Task Force on Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF ELCAC), said activity was participated in by the representatives from the different sectoral groups, namely: Indigenous Peoples (IP), Labor, Farmer-Fisherfolk , Peasant, Youth, Women, and Urban Poor. The said activity was also attended by the heads and representatives of the different NGAs in the region who are primarily responsible to mobilize sectoral representatives and provide consultative platform for the conference. 

The first day of the activity, held on May 19, 2021 via Zoom videoconferencing, focused on the pre-identification of thematic issues affecting the different sectors and the current efforts and proposed measures of the concerned agency to address it. The second day, held face-to-face at the Bicol University, Legazpi City and via Zoom on May 20, 2021, was highlighted by the reporting of the Sectoral Proposals and the Ceremonial Signing of Regional Manifesto in support to the Region’s Peace and Development Agenda by the participants from the different sectors and NGA representatives.

In his Closing Remarks, DILG Regional Director and Regional SUCBEM Cluster Chairperson, Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda, emphasized the importance of the contribution of each one of the members of the sectors, as well as the concerned agencies, in achieving the goal of our nation to attain peace and development in the country.
