Towards attaining sustainable peace and addressing the development gaps in the geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas in the Bicol Region, the RTF V Task Force Katoninungan asin Kauswagan officially launched the Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) projects of Region V at Casiguran Gymnasium, Casiguran, Sorsogon on 24 June 2021.

Present during the SBDP Launching were NTF-ELCAC Vice-Chair and National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr., Office of the Presidential Adviser for Bicol Affairs, Deputy Director General Vicente Agdamag, Undersecretary Marvel C. Clavecilla, DILG Undersecretary for Local Government Marlo L. Iringan, LEO70 PMO Head Asst. Director Rene Valera, Sorsogon Governor Francis Joseph Escudero, Casiguran Vice Mayor Dennis Escudero, MGen Henry Robinson Jr. of 9ID, Philippine Army, DILG 5 RD Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda, PNP PRO5 RD Jonnel Estomo, NICA V RD Vert T Chavez, DSWD V RD Leo L. Quintilla, PIA V RD Marlon E. Loterte, BFP V RD Ricardo C Perdigon, PMS Head Amber M. Mirandilla and TESDA V RD Elmer K. Talavera together with the Agency Cluster Heads of the RTF V Task Force Katoninungan asin Kauswagan and members of the Joint RPOC-RDC V.

The Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security Region V and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Gregorio Honasan II emphasized in his message that an inclusive society must be created to attain sustainable peace and development.

Among the highlights of the launching were the unveiling of 164 SBDP projects of the 49 beneficiary barangays of the provinces of Sorsogon, Camarines Norte and Masbate with a total allocation of 980,000,000.00 for Bicol Region with Php 20 Million for each barangay and the symbolic distribution of checks to the implementing PLGUs. The RCSP Baranggayan Song “Kasama Ka” and the Baranggayan Handbook initiated by the DILG Region 5 were also launched during the said activity.
