Virac, Catanduanes, March 8, 2017 – DILG-Catanduanes participated in the kick-off program for the 2017 National Women’s Month Celebration with the theme “WE Make Change Work for Women”. The Provincial Government of Catanduanes together with the national government agencies spearheaded the event . The program started with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Virac Cathedral and followed by the Solidarity Walk against VAW from Plaza Rizal to the Provincial Capitol.
Governor Joseph C. Cua , together with Vice-Governor Shirley A. Abundo, Vice Mayor Arlynn H. Arcilla of Virac and the Provincial Election Supervisor, Atty. Maria Aurea C. Bo-Bunao gave their inspirational message during the opening program.
Alongside with the kick-off program is a Free Service Booths for Women at the capitol lobby that cater a free massage, manicure, pedicure & haircut provided by TESDA Catanduanes together with the Office of Vice-Governor and Office of the Mayor of LGU Caramoran. There is also a Showcase of Products by the Women’s Group and a Voter’s Registration & Voter’s Education provided by the COMELEC-Catanduanes for Virac residents. – (LGOO V Arline B. Borlaza)
