Press Release, August 1, 2020 DOH Center for Health Development Bicol (DOH CHD)

The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol records thirteen (13) new confirmed cases of COVID-19. The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Bicol Region is now four hundred fifty-nine (459). Active cases are two hundred fifty-two (252).

Of the 13 new cases, eight (8) are from Albay (4 Legazpi City, 3 Guinobatan, 1 Daraga), two (2) Masbate (1 Cataingan, 1 Pio V. Corpuz) and one (1) each for Camarines Sur (Bato), Naga City and Camarines Norte (San Vicente).

DOH CHD – Bicol confirms the positive case from Bato, Camarines Sur who was tested via RT-PCR by a DOH accredited private laboratory in Manila through his company. His result came out positive on July 27, 2020, however, his Case Investigation Form (CIF) was received today from the said laboratory.

Releasing of other details about the said patients is at the discretion of the Local Government Units (LGUs) concerned guided by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.

Appeal to Public

COVID-19 confirmed cases in Bicol Region are increasing. The public especially the Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs), Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases must strictly follow quarantine and isolation procedures. Stay calm. Everyone must follow all the health protocols such as social distancing, use of facemask especially when outdoors, hand washing, cough etiquette, healthy lifestyle and to stay at home. Cooperation and discipline from the public are crucial at this time of crisis.
