Barangay officials of 18  barangays out of 23 barangay of the LGU Panganiban and  14 Barangays out of 18 barangays of LGU Bagamanoc attended the Three-Day Training Workshop on the Formulation of the 5-Year BDRRM Plan conducted by the Liga ng mga Barangay in coordination with the Local Government Unit and  the Department of Interior and Local Government Municipal Operations Office last February 18-21, 2016 and March 29-31, 2016 respectively at Amenia Beach Resort, Palawig, San Andres, Catanduanes. The participants were composed of Punong Barangays, Barangay Secretaries and chairs of the Committee on Environment of the Sangguniang Barangay.

DILG OIC-Provincial Director Uldarico Razal, Jr. explained the importance of the BDRRM Plan, discussed the detailed role of DILG and the Barangay Officials during calamities and presented the different programs of the DILG in relation to the DRRM Program such as Project Listo and SGLG.

Among the topics covered were concepts on disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation and Republic Acts 10121, COA Circular 2012-002 dated August 19, 2002, COA Circular No. 2014-002 dated April 15, 2014 and DBM-DILG-NDRRMC JMC 2013-01 dated March 23, 2013, as well as workshops on the formulation of 5-Year BDRRMP so that the participants can generate outputs that may be implemented in their localities.

The output on the said training were 5-Year Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Plan with Contingency Plan and  BDRRMIF of every barangay which shall be the basis of the allocation of LDRRM Fund and this document is part of mandatory criteria used by the DILG and other partner agencies for the assessment of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
