Barangay Sagrada, Bagamanoc, Catanduanes officially affirmed as lone entry of the Province of Catanduanes for the 2018 Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards (LTIA)Regional Level 4th to 6th Class Municipality attaining the Overall Performance Rating of 97.875.
After 22 years, the Province of Catanduanes successfully made it to the Regional Level of the LTIA as Barangay Sagrada of Bagamanoc triumphantly passed the criteria for said award. Following this achievement, it will be a big challenge for all the Lupong Tagapamayapa in the Province for the next assessment .
Last March 09, 2019, Barangay Sagrada, Bagamanoc, Catanduanes officials headed by Punong Barangay Jose delos Santos and their Lupong Tagapamayapa welcomed validators from DILG Regional Office and other members of the Regional Awards Committee namely: Regional Director Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda, CESO III represented by Regional Focal Person LGOOIV Elena Belgado; DRP Jose Demosthenes M. Salgado- LTIA Vice Chairperson; Atty. May M. Macasinag-Redoblado (RTC); PS MSGT Joaquin M. Sayson (PNP); and Feda Ann B. Bajamundi (CSO). Also present during the validation were representatives from DILG Catanduanes Provincial Office: Cluster Head William T. Aldea; Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Neil I. Evangelista; MLGOO Alma May T. Lim; and Provincial Focal Person LGOO II Concordia O. Siatong and representatives from DILG Regional Office: Margie M. Ogao, Statistician I ; and Marilou Barba, Administrative Aide VI who assessed the Lupon’s performance for possible recommendation to the 2018 LTIA National Level.
The 2018 LTIA has five (5) major criteria: (1) Efficiency in Operation; (2) Effectiveness in Securing the Settlement of Interpersonal Dispute Objective of KP; (3) Creativity and Resourcefulness of Lupong Tagapamayapa; (4) Area or Facility for KP Activities; and (5) Financial or Non-Financial Support which will be the basis for the assessment and validation.
Lupong Tagapamayapa is an administrative body created by law to operationalize the barangay justice system better known as “Katarungang Pambarangay” (KP).
The Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) was established pursuant to Section 406 (b) of the LGC of 1991 and Executive Order No. 394, s. 1997 which mandates the DILG to grant economic and other incentives to Lupong Tagapamayapa for their outstanding contribution to attain the objectives of the Katarungang Pambarangay.
