Last January 17-19, 2018 the DILG Catanduanes Provincial Office conducted a 3-Day Training on Assessing Gender-Responsiveness on ADM-Funded Projects held at Amenia Beach Resort, Palawig, San Andres, Catanduanes.
Relative to the JMC 2013-01 and JMC 2016-01 re: Guidelines on the Localization of Magna Carta of Women (MCW) that was issued in which the DILG is one of the signatories. The MCW mandates all government offices to adopt gender mainstreaming as a strategy for promoting gender equality in all stages of project cycle. The DILG was tasked to monitor the LGU’s compliance on the above-mentioned law.
To facilitate compliance of LGUs in the implementation of the two JMCs on the Localization of Magna Carta of women and ensure that these are applied to the implementation of the ADM-funded projects, the training was conducted in order to equip the Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs) and LGU Planning Officers with necessary knowledge and skills in the application of gender analysis tool in assessing the gender responsiveness of ADM funded projects.
The training-workshop was attended and participated in by all the Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs) and the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDCs) of eleven municipalities of the province.
