Today, December 12, 2024, the DILG Albay Provincial Office conducts the Provincial Rollout on Barangay Management Information System (BIMS) at Charisma Snackhouse, Guinobatan, Albay. The BIMS is a system that is provided by the DILG at no cost to the barangays. One of its purposes is to provide support to the barangays in expediting digitalization efforts towards better public service delivery.

ISA May Rose Lopez discusses the sub-systems of BIMS and DICT Provincial Officer, Engr. Antonio B. Bonganay shares information on RA 10173, also known as the Data Privacy Act 2012. Technical assistance is given to the barangay secretaries during the walkthrough activities.

The activity is facilitated by the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Section (LGMES) together with the Regional Information and Communication Technology Unit (RICTU) and attended by the C/MLGOOs and 72 barangay secretaries of the Province of Albay.
