As one of the 2024 SGLG potential passers of Albay, the PGA geared up for the most awaited National Validation on September 10, 2024 in pursuit of a favorable endorsement to the Council of Good Local Governance (CGLG). The validation was led by a team from DILG Region VIII, composed of LGOO V Francis Gabriel Juaton and LGOO II Engr. Jeza Sumayod, with the support of DILG Region V Regional and Provincial Offices.
The validation process evaluated the PGA across ten areas of governance, including Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection and Sensitivity, Health Compliance and Responsiveness, Sustainable Education, Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness, Safety, Peace and Order, Environmental Management, Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and the Arts, and Youth Development. This rigorous assessment involved on-site inspections of LGU facilities, interview, and a documentary review, ensuring that Albay meets the highest standards of good governance, transparency, and public service.
Finally, the concerted and tireless efforts of the government team and their unwavering dedication to serving the people of Albay under the lead of Governor Atty. Edcel Greco AB Lagman, paved the way for the most anticipated result as announced during the Exit Conference. Truly, a manifestation of PLGU’s committed action in upholding the ideals of Good Governance, consistent with the Provincial Government’s credo of Albay Matibay.
