LGU Jovellar has completed the construction of six Farm-to-Market Roads (FMRs) in barangays Estrella, Mamlad, Maogog, San Vicente, Sinagaran, and Villa Paz. Additionally, one FMR in Brgy. Del Rosario is nearing completion. These projects were funded by the FY 2023 Local Government Support Fund – Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF – SBDP), each with road project allocated Six Million Six Hundred Six Thousand Eight Hundred Eighty-Two Pesos and Seventeen Cents (Php. 6,606,882.17).
To ensure these projects meet national standards and governance criteria, a final inspection and validation were conducted on June 19-20, 2024 by DILG Albay personnel – Engrs. II Esperanza Cuya-Bedar and Simoun John Elmer G. Santidad, and PEOs II Randy L. Catura and Majestie A. Magas, together with LGOO VI Elenita D. Claveron. They were joined by Municipal Engineer Maureen K. Barbudo and Architect Roselyn M. Trinidad of LGU Jovellar’s Municipal Engineering Office, as well as Municipal Accountant Rey Angelico Openiano and CSO Representative Pedro Parabuac, Jr.
Further, completed FY 2023 LGSF-SBDP Projects in LGU Jovellar are as follows:
1. Brgy. Del Rosario: 301m-long Opening and Concreting of Road (98% complete as of inspection)
2. Brgy. Estrella: Concreting of 289m Farm-to-Market Road (100% complete)
3. Brgy. Mamlad: 327m-long Opening and Concreting of Road (100% complete)
4. Brgy. Maogog: Concreting of 392m Farm-to-Market Road (100% complete)
5. Brgy. San Vicente: Concreting of 495m Farm-to-Market Road (100% complete)
6. Brgy. Sinagaran: Concreting of 373m Farm-to-Market Road (100% complete)
7. Brgy. Villa Paz: Concreting of 195m Farm-to-Market Road (100% complete)
In conjunction with the inspection, PEOs II Randy Catura and Majestie Magas led the barangay profiling for Brgys. Del Rosario, Estrella, Mamlad, San Vicente, Sinagaran, and Villa Paz. They gathered baseline data to assess the impact of these projects on the community. DILG Albay PEOs also conducted interviews with Punong Barangays, Brgy. Council Members, and residents to create an audio-visual presentation highlighting their experiences before and after the implementation of these projects.
The Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) is a flagship initiative of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC). Funded through the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF), which aims to mitigate poverty and promote development in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA) and former communist conflict-affected areas.
