The DILG Region 5, through the DILG Sorsogon Provincial Office, conducted the comprehensive localized General Written Exam (GWE) to the 17 out of 19 qualified applicants for the position of Local Government Operations Officer (LGOO) II today, 04 January 2024, at the Conference Room, Sorsogon Provincial Operations Office, City Hall Complex, Barangay Cabid-An, Sorsogon City.

Prior to the start of the examination proper, Program Manager LGOO VI Rafael L. De la Rama Jr. provided the specific instructions to the applicants, while LGOO V Mary Ann N. Monte and LGOO III Cristy M. Derilo actively rendered technical assistance to ensure seamless conduct of this examination. To wrap it all up after an hour and a half of written test, Provincial Director Arnel Renato L. Madrideo gave words of inspiration to the applicants and further acknowledged the challenges of an LGOO from the start of the recruitment process which initially determine the character of individuals throughout the journey in public service.

The GWE is the second phase of the written examination, following the Pre-Qualifying Examination held last October 26-27, 2023 for aspiring LGOOs, which measures the competency of an applicant in written communication, particularly in basic facts and opinion-based writing.
