The consortium led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Australian Government, UN Habitat, Philippine Business for Social Progress (PSBP), National Resilience Council (NRC), and the Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society (CBCS) and the DILG as the overall lead government partner for the Strengthening Institutions and Empowering Localities against Disasters and Climate Change (SHIELD) Program conducted a two-day Discovery Workshops with the Provincial Government of Albay local functionaries and the Regional Multi-Stakeholders Advisory Council (MSAC) from September 13-14, 2022 at the Ninong’s Hotel, Legazpi City, Albay.

This is part of the Scoping Mission of the program which aims to engage the Province of Albay and its partners in the identification of possible areas of collaboration and interventions in terms of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation (DRR-CCA) resiliency.

Representatives from the Regional Offices of DOST, DENR, DTI, DOH, OCD, DSHUD, DOJ, PIA, SEC, and partners from Local Association of DRRMOs of Albay (LADA), Tabang Bikol Movement, Inc., Bicol Coalition for Development, Inc., Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners, Computer Arts and Technological (CAT) College, and Albay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) have undertaken a workshop to gauge the current status and gaps of the DRR-CCA initiatives in the province.
