On the last day of the benchmarking and knowledge exchange, delegates and functionaries from LGU Camalig and Daraga visited the Provincial Government of Cebu on June 1, 2023.

Cebu Provincial Governor Gwendolyn F. Garcia, provincial government’s department heads, and board members warmly welcomed the delegation headed by Mayor Carlwyn Baldo of Daraga and Mayor Carlos Erwin Baldo of Camalig.

In her message, Gov. Garcia highlighted that those blessed with the privilege to serve their countrymen, most especially the less fortunate, must always keep in mind to achieve unity to deliver quality public service and good governance.

The governor of Cebu also hopes that the flagship programs of the province, introduced by her department heads to the delegation, will find a place to be implemented in the municipalities of Daraga and Camalig.

She also said that their tourism program, dubbed as Suroy Suroy sa Sugbo, can be the stepping stone for both LGUs to adopt in their respective municipalities in promoting their tourism more and increase the municipality’s economy.

Moreover, Cebu Provincial Board Member Raymond Calderon hopes that LGUs Camalig and Daraga continue to foster a good relationship with the province.

In a message of thanks and support, DILG Region 5 Assistant Regional Director Jhoaden G. Lucero, CESO V extends her utmost gratitude to the Provincial Government of Cebu in their support of one of the programs of the Bicol LGRRC— through benchmarking Bicolano LGUs to performing LGUs outside their locality.

Both LGUs Daraga and Camalig mayors also expressed their sincerest thanks to the Provincial Government of Cebu. Both said that the knowledge imparted to them will further enhance their plan and initiative in seeking more ways to enhance their delivery of good governance and quality service, especially in the tourism sector in their municipalities.

After the benchmarking event, the delegation had an ocular visit to Cebu Province’s SP Hall. Also, it paid a courtesy visit to the DILG Cebu province’s office, headed by Provincial Director Atty. Ian Kenneth B. Lucero.
