DILG Region 5, through its Local Government Capability Development Division, successfully concluded the BNEO Assessment and LRGRRC 2nd Quarter Meeting on July 11-12, 2024 at Gamboa’d Orchard in Malilipot, Albay.

The regional assessment aimed to identify strengths and challenges for continuous improvement, reaffirming the department’s commitment to developing barangay officials through the BNEO towards GREAT Barangays Program. The event also allowed provincial offices to share key insights and highlights from BNEO.

Attendees included the regional management team led by Regional Director Atty. Arnaldo E. Escober Jr, CESO V; Assistant Regional Director Jhoaden G. Lucero, CESO V; LGCDD Division Chief Ma. Ruthel P. Gigantoca; LGMED Division Chief Darlyn D. Ayende; CAO Rico E. Gaurino; and Provincial Directors Ray B. Caceres, CESO V; Melody E. Relucio, CESO V; Julius Rodel L. Cal-Ortiz, CESO V; Ben Paul M. Naz, CESE; Arnel Renato L. Madrideo; along with DILG 5 cluster heads and provincial focal persons.

Key takeaways from the regional assessment include the importance of thorough planning and meticulous preparation for the technical working group in anticipation of the next BNEO Program. This assessment underscores the need for strategic foresight in organizing future activities, ensuring that objectives are clearly defined, resources are allocated effectively, and timelines are established to guide the execution of initiatives.
