In line with the Stakeholders Development Phase of the localized implementation of the Regional Institutional Development Support (RIDS), DILG Region V conducted the Onboarding of LGRRC SGLG Task Force Tabang Uswag to the Bicol E.K.S.P.R.E.S last June 25, 2024 at the Training Hall of the DILG Regional Office 5.
The LGRRC Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Task Force Tabang Uswag were oriented of the upcoming launching of the Bicol Enhanced Knowledge Sharing and Performance-tracking of Revitalized and Empowered LGUs for SGLG (Bicol E.K.S.P.R.E.S). Presided by DILG 5 Regional Director Atty. Arnaldo E. Escober Jr., CESO V along with Assistant Regional Director Jhoaden G. Lucero, CESO V and LGMED Chief Darlyn D. Ayende, the members were also appraised of the State of SGLG National and Regional Results as well as their roles as representatives of their agencies to the Task Force Tabang Uswag. A briefing of the Bicol EKPRES or the DILG 5’s localized implementation of RIDS and the upcoming activities in consonance with its 3-year roadmap was also conducted.
The Task Force is comprised of member agencies from the regional offices of Bureau of Local Government Fund (BLGF), Civil Service Commission (CSC), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industries (DTI), National Youth Commission (NYC), Office of the Civil Defense (OCD), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the Philippine National Police (PNP). Also in attendance via Zoom is RIDS Technical Lead PDO IV Third Salang with the SLGP PMO team.
This program is initiated by the Support to Local Governance Program – Program Management Office (SLGP-PMO) and the Bureau of Local Government Supervision (BLGS). Bicol EKSPRES aims for a genuine and sustained regional development to catapult the level of compliance of the local government units (LGUs) in the Bicol Region to the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
