The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Local Government Academy, and League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) lead the conduct of the two-day Orientation Course for newly-minted Mayors for Bicol Region and National Capital Region (NCR) with the theme, “Primed Leaders for Renewed Local Governance” on July 21, 2022 at New Coast Hotel, Manila.

The NEO Orientation Course is the first learning intervention under Component 2: Jumpstarting Local Governance, focusing on the provision of assistance and guidance to the newly-elected officials to navigate well on their first 100 days in office and explore strategic and transformational actions to improve the leadership and management capacities of their local government towards better services and performance.

In his opening message, DILG Region 5 Regional Director Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda, CESO III, congratulated the NEOs on their fresh mandate and called for a stronger collaboration between the Department and the Local Government Units (LGUs).

“Let us continue working together to achieve a Matino, Mahusay at Maaasahang pamamahala upang makamit ‘ang matatag, maginhawa at panatag na buhay para sa lahat’ (AmBisyon Natin 2040). Let us continue working together to improve the quality of life of every Bicolano,” he emphasized.The NEOs shall take up sessions under four modules throughout the two-day Orientation Course.
