The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region V successfully conducted the last round of the Regional Office–Provincial Office (RO–PO) Consultation and Interfacing in Catanduanes on March 12, 2026, bringing together regional and the DILG Provincial team and Field Officers of Catanduanes to strengthen coordination and align implementation priorities.

For FY 2026, the series of interfacing activities focuses on streamlining and harmonizing regional and provincial directions on the Local Government Code (LGC) RevAmP, as well as key updates on LGU Profiling and the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Foundational Governance. The activity ensured a common understanding of policy directions and performance standards for the DILG Provincial Office of Catanduanes.

A highlight of the activity was the World Café session, which provided a safe and interactive space for Provincial Office personnel and field officers to surface on-the-ground issues, share implementation challenges, and engage directly with regional focal persons. The exchange enabled real-time clarifications and the identification of targeted support and interventions to further enhance service delivery to local government units (LGUs).

Amid the ongoing global situation affecting energy resources, RD Escober also highlighted the importance of implementing energy conservation measures pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 114, s. 2026, issued by the Office of the President.

The RO–PO Consultation and Interfacing is an annual initiative of DILG Regional Office V that serves as a platform to surface operational challenges, clarify roles and expectations, and strengthen inter-office collaboration, ensuring the timely and effective implementation of programs, projects, and activities in support of LGUs.
