In line with its commitment to fostering honest, transparent, and accountable public service, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) continues to ensure that projects funded under the Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) are properly implemented and truly benefit the communities they serve.

From July 28 to 30, 2025, the SGLGIF National Validation Team, composed of Mr. Angelo D. Maribbay and Mr. Earl Laurence T. Tudeo of the Bureau of Local Government Development (BLGD), together with the Regional SGLGIF Team led by Engr. Sharon T. Matias and Engr. Karl Hanzel C. Lozano, conducted validations of SGLGIF-funded projects across the Bicol Region. The team visited the Municipality of Magarao to validate the procurement and installation of a centralized CCTV system, proceeded to the Municipality of Pilar for the purchase of a garbage dump truck with partitions, went to Sorsogon City for the construction of a public comfort room at Rampeolas in Barangay Talisay, West District, then visited Ligao City for the procurement of extrication equipment, and finally, Legazpi City for the construction of road and flood mitigation structures.

The SGLGIF is a performance-based reform program that grants financial assistance to Local Government Units (LGUs) awarded the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG). It supports priority development projects identified in each LGU’s Local Development Investment Program (LDIP), driving sustainable growth and improving the delivery of essential public services.

Through on-site inspections, document reviews, and consultations with local officials and beneficiaries, the validation ensured that these projects meet the required standards, are fully completed, and are delivering tangible improvements to their respective communities. This initiative underscores the DILG’s unwavering commitment to strengthening good governance and its vision of uplifting the quality of life of every Filipino through effective, transparent, and accountable local government programs.
