Provincial Management Team Meeting re: Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Mandatory Training

DILG Camarines Sur spearheaded the conduct of the Provincial Management Team Meeting re: Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Mandatory Training on April 17, 2018 at Villa Caceres Hotel, Naga City. The activity was participated by MLGOOs, representatives from different State Universities and Colleges in the province, National Youth Commission, and Provincial Local Youth Development Officer. The orientation focused on the guidelines on the conduct of SKMT and the succeeding activities to be undertaken by DILG and its partner institution.

Given the magnitude of the new corps of Sangguninang Kabataan, the training is geared towards enhancing the youth officials’ competencies to perform their mandated duties and responsibilities in the barangay. It also aspires to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills, since barangay is considered as the frontline of local government undertakings in the country.

The one-day course will be the starting point in preparing the newly-elected SK officials on barangay governance. It concentrates on the following topics pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 2018-48: Decentralization and Local Governance, SK History and Salient Features, Meetings and Resolutions, Planning and Budgeting, and Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards of public officials. Training will run from May 17-26, 2018.

The SK Mandatory training is indeed a great strategy to further good governance especially among our young leaders.
