The Regional Rollout of the Barangay Information Management System (BIMS) in the Province of Camarines Sur and Naga City took place recently at the Regent Hotel, Naga City, Camarines Sur, recording an all-time high participation of 160 barangay secretaries from 19 cities and municipalities across the province.

The event, which marks a key milestone in the Department’s efforts to streamline barangay data management, was attended by the DILG Region V Regional BIMS team led by the Regional Focal Person LGOO V Ma. Victoria G. Rañeses. Together with the DILG Camarines Sur team, they all played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth facilitation of the event, providing technical support, and answering queries from the participants.

The rollout saw an active engagement from the barangay secretaries, as they were guided through the system by both the provincial and regional teams. The teams took turns roaming the tables, offering hands-on assistance during the system walkthroughs, ensuring that each participant had a clear understanding of how to navigate the new platform.

The event’s success is seen as a critical step in the province’s transition to a more digitally integrated governance system. It also highlights the commitment of the Department in supporting barangay secretaries with the necessary tools to improve services and record-keeping in their communities.
