The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Region 5 celebrated its 34th Founding Anniversary with the theme “Matatag na Serbisyo, Patnubay sa Tunay na Pagbabago” on August 6, 2025 at The Oriental Hotel, Legazpi City. The activity honored partner agencies and institutions for their invaluable contributions to the Bureau’s mission of safeguarding lives and building safer communities.

Among the awardees was the DILG Region 5, which was recognized for its unwavering support to BJMP’s programs and advocacies. The recognition highlighted the DILG 5’s valuable contribution in advancing the Jail Bureau’s initiatives, particularly in the areas of jail management, rehabilitation, and the development of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

This award underscores the strong partnership between DILG Region 5 and BJMP Region 5 in advancing good governance, strengthening local institutions, and promoting initiatives that contribute to the rehabilitation and reintegration of PDLs into the community.

The event brought together partner agencies, local government units, and stakeholders who share the BJMP’s commitment to ensuring safe, humane, and rehabilitative facilities, and to building a more secure and progressive society.
