The DILG R5 spearheaded the Rollout Training on “Local Economic Development (LED) for Local Government Units (LED4LGUS) Fundamental Modules under the Program Creating Vibrant, Productive, and Resilient Local Economies (CVPRLE)” on January 24-28, 2022 via Zoom.
The online training workshop was attended by twenty one selected local government units with Local Chief Executives, LGU LED Teams, LEDIPOs and other LGU personnel as participants from the four Provinces of the Bicol Region –Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Masbate and Sorsogon.
The LED Trainers from the Bicol University College of Business Economics and Management (CBEM) headed by Prof. Mary Ann L. Ansano and her team: Prof. Elmer A. Lorenzana, Prof. Dimson M. Rivero, PhD, Prof. Julie Ann M. Lustan, PhD, Prof. Edgar Barrameda, Prof. Nolan G. Belaro, and Prof. Ma. Crestia C. Bañares facilitated the discussion of the LED4LGUs modules.
The five-day training focused on providing interventions and resources to the local government units, improving their capacities to drive the local economic process and ensure better conditions for economic growth and employment generation. Participants presented their Business Continuity Plan during the workshop where LGU Milagros-Masbate was awarded the Best Paper Presentation while LGU Gubat-Sorsogon was also recognized with the Best Paper Presenter, Mr. Patrick Omar Erestain.
The LED4LGUs Program is LGA-DILG’s response to the urgent need to enhance the capacities of local governments in carrying out the enabling role of local economic development.
