The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), highlighted the Duterte administration’s accomplishments through the Duterte Legacy BarangayanihanCaravan simultaneously held across the country on September 30, 2021.

In Region V, the Duterte Legacy having the theme, “BarangayanihanCaravan Towards National Recovery,” kicked off with a motorcade followed by a program held at the CWC Watersports Complex, Pili, Camarines Sur, as the event was hosted by the Province of Camarines Sur. The program featured accomplishments and notable changes in the government since the assumption of the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte(PRRD) as President in 2016.  The program showcased the achievements of the government, through the different National Government Agencies (NGAs), awarding of benefits to beneficiaries, extended selected services and also featured respective booths to boost the information dissemination of their respective programs, projects and advocacies. 

For Region V, the caravan highlighted the accomplishments of the convergence of all the government agencies under the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflicts (RTF-ELCAC), and of the DILG particularly on the implementation and localization of Executive Order No. 70. This includes the implementation of Locally Funded Projects (LFPs), Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP), and Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP).

The DILG 5 advocacy booth was spearheaded by its Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) featuring knowledge products on Baranggayan sa Bikolor the localized RCSP, SBDP, LFP’s, Uswagand other Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials which includes booklets, flyers, handbooks, brochures and audio-visual presentations on major programs of the Department.

Other NGAs present in support of the BaranggayanihanCaravan were PNP, Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH),Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP). Camarines Sur 2ndDistrict Representative Luis Raymund “LRay” F. Villafuerte, Jr. also attended and given his message in support to the launch of the Duterte Legacy Caravan.

The caravan was concluded by the testimonies of the beneficiaries and recipients of the different programs and projects of the NGAs, in which the former shared their stories on how the Duterte administration changed their lives.
